Learners who are assessed as competent against this unit standard will be able to develop, implement and monitor a Health and Safety site plan, identify specific hazards related to the construction environment and supervise the implementation of steps to limit damage to persons and property. These competencies complement the other core supervisory competencies and contribute to the development of a professional community of Civil Engineering Construction Supervisors.

The qualifying learner will be capable of:

Demonstrating an understanding of Health and Safety on a construction site.
Explaining hazards in construction work areas and preventative measures.
Coordinating first aid resources in the case of an emergency.Developing and implementing a Health and Safety Site plan.
Monitoring the implementation of the Health and Safety plan, systems and procedures
